TMJ Disorders

TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders are a broad category of diseases and disorders of the temporomandibular joint, articular disc, associated muscles, and surrounding soft tissue.  Symptoms may vary greatly across the different types of conditions and not all treatments work for each diagnosis.  A thorough history, examination, and imaging is needed to make an accurate diagnosis.  Our knowledge about these disorders has increased greatly over the years, providing better understanding of effective and conservative treatment options.
